ars, Castel traces his ance- –
tors to medieval Castil
(Spain).
He spent his youth in
Caracas, Venezuela, where
he began his musical educa-
tion which continued in the
United States, Germany
and Italy.
He is a specialist in

Ladino music and has re-
corded an alblum called
"Sefarad — The Sephardic
Tradition in Ladino Song,"
and wrote the Nico Castel
Book of Ladino Song.
Castel's accompanist for
the concert is Ann Lewin.
A pre-concert reception
for patrons and sponsors is
slated at 7 p.m. The public is
invited to the concert for
which tickets are available
without charge through the
synagogue office, 547-7970.

Lecture set

Schrayer,
Elizabeth
assistant political director
of AIPAC, will speak on
"Campaign '84: Implica-
tions for the Jewish Com-
munity" on Sunday at 11
a.m. at Cong. B'nai David.
Ms. Schrayer will appear
for the annual Spring
Forum sponsored by the
synagogue's cultural com-
mission.
A continental breakfast
will be served at 10:15 a.m.
The public is invited free of
charge.

Chabad House
lists activities

The Chabad House of Ann
Arbor, 715 Hill, will have
dinner, services and a lec-
ture today, beginning at
8:30 p.m. Rabbi Aharon
Goldstein will speak on:
"The Life of a Priest." There
is no charge, but reserva-
tions are required.
On Saturday, services
will be held at the Chabad
House at 10 a.m. The topic
will be: "Jewish Education."
