Young people have always presented problems for their elders. Adolescence,
the physical and psychological transition from child to adult, is a period of
turmoil. The manifestations of that turmoil differ from generation to
generation, reflecting contemporary lifestyles and environment.
It's easy for parents to become exasperated with teenaged children and their
seemingly bizarre behavior. Parents' exasperation, in turn, can lead to
further rebellion in children, leading to more exasperation and an
ever-widening generation gap.
Discussing family troubles with a professional counselor or therapist can
help clear the air and sort things out. Sinai's Problems of Daily Living Clinic
is designed to help individuals and families with the problems of everyday
life. For more information call 493-6280.
