Dadaist artist Jam() dies
Tel Aviv (JTA) — Marcel
Janco, one of the founders of
the Dada movement in art
in Europe in the 1920s and
one of Israel's most promi-
nent artists since his arrival
here during World War II,
died April 21.
Mr. Janco, who was 89,
was born in Romania,
studied architecture in
Zurich where he and a
Ruby Goldstein
Ruby Goldstein, a referee
who worked in 39 cham-
pionship fights during a
21-year career beginning in
1943, died April 22 in
Miami Beach, Fla., at age
76.

anti-bourgeois artists"
founded the Dada protest
art movement. But in Paris
later he parted from the
movement and returned to a
more formalistic school of
painting.
He came to pre-state Is-
rael in 1940 and was the
founder of the Ein Hod ar-
tists village on the Carmel,
where the house he rebuilt
was made into a Janco and
Dada museum some years
ago.

Dr. Allen Zieger
Dr. Allen Zieger, founder
of Zieger and Botsford Gen-
eral Hospitals, died April 20
at age 74.
'Born in Poland, Dr.
Zieger also was the execu-
tive director of Botsford
Hospital. He was an osteo-
pathic physician and sur-
geon.
He leaves his wife, Mar-
gareta; a daughter, Mrs.
Gerson (Carol) Cooper: a
son, Ari G.; a brother,
Maurice of Pompano, Fla.;
and three grandchildren.
