Forensic
contestant
Karen Safran, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Norman
Miller of Southfield, re-
cently participated in the
forensic competition spon-
sored by, the University of
Michigan.
A ninth grade student at
Southfield-Lathrup High
School, Karen won that
school's competition in the
persuasive speech category
with an original oration
against prayer in the
schools. She placed third in
that category in the district
competition held recently at
Berkley High School.
