Mesorah Publications has
gained leadership as pro-
ducers of traditional works,
with emphasis on the tradi-
tional Orthodox and "com-
mentaries on the Bible,
Talmud and the Mishnah.
The interest drawn by
Mesorah authors recently
extended also to the publi-
cation of a Passover
Haggadah, with the inter-
pretatiVe by the Mesorah
scholars.
The newest in the series
of commentaries is Mis-
hnah, containing the text of
Seder Nashim. It is a new
translation with a commen-
tary anthologized from
Talmudic, Midrashic and
Rabbinic sources.
This important work con-
taining the text of the
selected portions, with
translations on pages op-_
positive the Hebrew text,
was edited by Yehezkel
Danziger. The translation is
by Rabbi Yoseif Rabinowitz.
The first volume in a
planned series on the Mis-
hnah, the scholarly effort is
already gaining wide atten-
tion and is receiving
acclaim- for the seriousness
with which Mishnaic
sources are thus made
available in splendidly an-

Blum protests
PLO exhibit
at UN center
United Nations (JTA) —
Yehuda Blum, Israel's am-
bassador to the United Na-
tions, expressed "profound
regret and vigorous protest"
upon learning that the
United Nations Informa-
tion Center in Harare, Zim-
babwe was used recently for
the display of an anti-
Jewish exhibition by the
Palestine Liberation
Organization.
In a letter to UN Secre-
tary General Javier Perez
de Cuellar, Blum said that
among the pictures at the
exhibition, held Jan. 16-20,
was one showing "Christ on
the Cross after being killed
by the Jews," according to
The Herald newspaper of
Harare. According to the.
same report, Blum added,
"drawings of skeletons and
skulls portraying the Is-
raelis' bloodlust were also
displayed."
Noting that the office of
the Secretary General had
already informed "him that
the UN Information Cen-
ter in Harare had no official
involvement with this ex-
hibition" and that it only
"responded to a request
from the government of
Zimbabwe that the UN
premises in Harare be made
available for the purpose of
this PLO exhibition," Blum
said he hoped all measures
would be taken to prevent a
recurrence of incidents of
this kind.

United Nations (JTA) —
The Security Council has
renewed the mandate of the
United Nations Interim
Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
The vote last Thursday
night to extend the mandate
of the 5,688-member force
by six months, until -Oct.
19, was 13-0, with the
Soviet Union and the Uk-
raine abstaining, as in the
past. The Ukraine is a
Soviet republic that has a
separate vote in the UN.
