79, died April 13. She leaves
two sons, Ronald R. and
Baron of Alpharetta, Ga.;
two brothers, Ira Friedman
of Atlanta, Ga., and Robert
Friedman; two sisters, Mrs.
Max (Rita) Salasnek and
Mrs. Sylvia Cohen; six
grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter.

SOPHIA M. HOLTZ-
MAN, 84, died April 18. She
leaves a daughter, Roberta;
and one niece.

Jack Wertheimer

Jack Wertheimer, a
former Detroit pharmacist,
died April 15 at age 88.
Mr. Wertheimer formerly
owned Parkside Drugs,
Thrifty Drugs and Nottin-
gham Pharmacy. During
World War I he was a phar-
macist's mate and was
graduated from the former
Ferris Institute.
He was a member of the
Fred Alger Post of Veterans
of Foreign Wars, the Cooties
and was a 32nd degree Ma-
son.
Mr. Wertheimer is sur-
vived by his wife, Rose; two
daughters, Lois Lipnik of
Southfield and Doris of
Palm Springs, Calif.; two
grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Interment Palm Springs.

member of Jewish and civic
organizations, died April 17
at age 77.
Born in Detroit, Mrs.
Silver was a member of the
Democratic Party, Hadas-
sah, National Jewish
Hospital/National Asthma
Center and Citizens for Bet-
ter Care.
She leaves a son, Dr.
Simon of St. Louis, Mo.; a
daughter, Masha; and two
grandsons.
