The family of Alfred L.
Deutsch, chairman of Sinai
Hospital of Detroit's execu-
tive committee, will honor
his 70th birthday by donat-
ing funds to the hospital to
establish an annual lec-
tureship in his name.
The Alfred L. Deutsch
Annual Lecture Series will
feature noted speakers ad-
dressing topics related to
the programs of Sinai Hos-
pital's Mothers and Infants
Center (The Fann and
Harry Srere and Sons
Perihatal Genter). Deutsch
was president of the hospi-
tal's board of trustees from
1979 to 1981 and was in-
strumental in the building
of the Mothers and Infants
Center, which opened in
January 1983.
Deutsch is currently the
chairman of the board of
United Savings and Loan
Association. He is also a
board member of the Jewish
Welfare Federation and the
National Conference of
Christians and Jews. He
served on the board and was
a former president of United
Jewish Charities and Cong.
B'nai Moshe.
Deutsch has been a
member of the board of di-
rectors of United Hebrew
Schools, Fresh Air Society
and the Tuberculosis and
Health Society. He was the
general chairman of the Al-
lied Jewish Campaign in
1967 and 1968.
In addition to serving as
president of the Sinai board,
he also has acted as vice
president and treasurer. He
has been the chairman of
.

a member of the program
planning committee and
real estate committee.
Marriages
Barbara Adler and Jay
Alan Butan were married
recently at the Hyatt Re-
gency Hotel. Rabbi Harold
Loss of Temple Israel of-
ficiated. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Adler of Southfield.
Parents of the bridegroom
are Mr. and Mrs. Leon
Butan of South Orange,
N.J. Vicki Weinberg was
the matron of honor.
Meredith Adler was the
flower girl. John Henle was
the best man. Following a
honeymoon cruise to Mexico
and the Caribbean, the
couple is residing in South-
field.
