Pianist Flavio Varani
will be the soloist with the
Center Symphony Or-
chestra, under the direction
of Julius Chajes on Sunday
at 3:30 p.m. at the Aaron
DeRoy Thaater of the
Jewish Community Center
in W. Bloomfield.
Varani has appeared at
Meadow Brook with the De-
troit Symphony Orchestra
on several occasions. He is
the head of the piano de-
partment at Oakland Uni-
versity. In recent years he
performed in concerts in
Europe and South America.
Varani will be heard in
Mozart's Piano Concerto
K503. He will also play
Schumann's Piano Sonata
in F-sharp minor.
The concert will open
with Gluck's overture to
Iphigenie in Aulis.
Tickets are available at
the Center cashier's office.
