The First
Mother's
Day

ANNIVERSARY

19111 W. 10 Mile Rd., Southfield 48075 • 357-2920

The earliest record
of a gift for a
mother appears
in Genesis 30:14,

And Reuben went in
the fields and found
mandrakes and brought
them unto his mother, Leah.

Spontaneous.
Sweet.
Touching.

A child's gift is
always welcome.
But notice that
Jacob didn't
show up
with mandrakes.
It doesn't say,
but we suspect
Jacob gave his wife
a life membership
in tiadassah.
lie was smart.
That's why
they named a
people after him.
You know what
they named
after Reuben?
A sandwich.
