The incumbent for the Bor- man Chair will be Prof. Adi Shamir, an Israeli expert in the branch of mathematics known as complexity theory. The Bormans have served the Weizmann Institute of Science of Rehovot, Israel, for more than 10 years. Borman is a national vice president of the American Committee and is a member of the institute's interna- tional board of governors. He is the recipient of the National Community Serv- ice Award, presented by the Jewish Theological Semi- nary of America "for distin- guished service to the Jewish and general com- munities." In 1983, he re- presented this country as a Distinguished Trading Partner of the state of Is- rael.
