NEW YORK — The 35-
member Israel Army Choir
began a tour of the United
States last month in Miami
Beach.
The choir, accompanied
by a full orchestra, will also
stage concerts in New Or-
leans, Washington,
Chicago, Los Angeles, New
Jersey and New York before
returning to Israel at the
end of March.
The choir will perform
both modern Israeli music
and traditional Jewish
melodies. The group is
headed by Lt. Col. Arie
Braun, chief cantor of the
Israel Defense Forces. The
tour is being sponsored by
the Association for Promot-
ing Tourism in Israel and
the country's Ministry of
Tourism.
