TEL AVIV (JTA) —
Yaacov Levinson, the
former board chairman of
Bank Hapoalim who corn-
mitted suicide at his Ramat
Gan home last week was
buried Friday at Kibutz
Tzora near Beit Shemesh.
Levinson had requested bu-
rial at the kibutz, next to a
close friend who was buried
there last year.
In his suicide note, Levin-
son had referred to a "gang"
which sought to "plot"
against him. His widow,
Nurit, told the Histadrut
and the Labor Party that
she did not want present

Danny Rosolio and Moshe
Olenik, a Bank Hapoalim
board member, to attend the
funeral. She also said she
did not want any member of
the Labor Party to speak at
the graveside. It is gener-
ally assumed that those she
mentioned were part of the
"gang" which Levinson
suggested had sought to
oust him and had driven
him to his death.
Levinson had denied all
the allegations of misman-
agement of Bank Hapoalim
funds, saying whatever he
had done regarding the
transfers of funds had been
done for the good of the
bank, its subsidiaries and
the Labor Party.
But bank investigators
said they had not received
full and satisfactory replies
to their questions. And the
Labor Party has stressed

that Levinson was not a party, and that his actions
current party leader though had not been undertaken on
he was a member of the behalf of the party.

Peruvians Hit
Hitler Biography

LIMA (JTA) — The Peru-
vian Jewish community has
publicly denounced the
promotional campaign
being conducted for a
serialization in the country
of a flattering biography of
Adolf Hitler, the World
Jewish Congress reported.
In a forceful editorial, "La
Union," the news organ of
the Asociacion Judia del
Peru, protested the appear-
ance and sale nationally of
the Spanish-language work
entitled "I, Hitler" and sub-
titled "The First Photo-
graphic Biography of the
Leader of Nazism."
The editorial in La Union
pointed out that the Hit-
lerite biography is a compi-
lation of material whose
contents are utterly anti-
Semitic and anti-
Democratic. The editorial,
signed by Saba Shel Yoab,
also noted the ominous fact
that, except for one . maga-
zine, this dissemination of
Nazi propaganda had not
brought forth the slightest
reaction from "the demo-
cratic and juridical sectors
of the country."
