THOSE WHO SAW
"Tribute" with Jimmy
Launce and his production
company two years ago at
Somerset Dinner Theater
perhaps remarked that it
couldn't have been done any
better.
But what was two years
ago isn't today . . . except for
the wonderful story by Ber-
nard Slade . . . An almost
new cast, Jimmy and ac-
tress Elaine Boike, who por-
trays the ex-wife, only ones
from Somerset, prove
otherwise with their
splendid presentation of
"Tribute" at the Club
Dinner Theater, Hyatt Re-
gency, Dearborn.
Directed by Hal Young-
blood, it has been com-
pletely re-staged, plus the
addition of a few different
bits . . . while presented

The song, "Scottie's
Theme," played by him
on the piano at inter-
vals, was written by
Jimmy Launce, whose
song-writing accom-
plishments are only one
of his many talents ...
The WJR radio disc joc-

key, interviewer, etc., is
an airwaves stalwart.
Climax is when the spot-
light turns into the audi-
ence . . . and Scottie Temp-
leton is brought up to the
stage for a speech at his tes-
timonial.
It is a very well-done
show .. . certainly the cap-
ping of a fine evening.
There are three different
packages for the show by
Jimmy Launce PROd-
uctions at Hyatt Regency
Dearborn . . . Dinner at
Guilio & Sons, at Kafay's
. . . or just theater itself.
At dinner in Giulio's, very
personable waiter Rich
Ciola, seven-year-student
at University of Michigan,
Dearborn, is the person-
able, efficient and most cor-
dial 24-year-old young man
putting himself through
school between working .. .
He had been a busboy 2 1/2
years before becoming a
waiter . . . Rich's identical
twin (born four minutes
apart) also works at Hyatt
Regency Dearborn, in
Kafay's.
The special gourmet
dinner menu for Jimmy
Launce PROductions in-
cludes choice of fish,
chicken or pasta ... the
huge, fantastic salad bar
at canoli and
coffee or tea. That salad
bar is far and away a
meal in itself ... so much
variety ... and none
around hardly compar-
able to it.
"Tribute" closes at Hyatt
,Regency Dearborn on May
19 . . . with performances
Friday and Saturday eve-
nings.
Jimmy Launce PROd-
uctions runs all year long at
both Hyatt Regency and
Somerset Mall, where
Jimmy and sweet, pretty,
gracious wife Brigette also
produce dinner theater.
If you've seen 'Tribute,"
see it again with Jimmy and
his fine cast . . . You'll enjoy
the show . . . and certainly
the prestigious Hyatt Re-
gency Dearborn . . . with its
ever-elegant aplomb.
MAX PINCUS of London
Chop House, member of
Wayne State University
board of governors since
1971, has been elected vice
chairman for one-year term.
LOVING CUP is appear-
ing at Excalibur, North-
western Hwy., and
Franklin at 12 Mile .. .
through March 9 . . .
Tuesday-Saturday.
THE QUESTION on
March 13 will be . . . Where
is Frank Passalacqua going
to put everybody?
I was at Mario's on Second
for its Opera Night recently
. . . and enjoyed a real treat
. . . with each course of the
usually-excellent meal
served by top waiter Jack
Burde, between sets ... as
operatic artists displayed
his or her elegance.
Comm. Dino Valle,
baritone; Jan Rae,
