Saudis Give
$28 Million
to pLO Group

LONDON (JTA) — The
government of Saudi
Arabia last week sent a
check for $28.5 million to
the Fatah representative in
the kingdom in its latest in-
stallment of financial sup-
port for the Palestine Liber-
ation Organization, the
World Jewish Congress re-
ported.
According to monitoring
sources of the WJC, a broad-
cast carried by Radio Riyad
quoted Rafiq An-Natshah,
member of the Central
Committee of the Fatah
movement and its represen-
tative in the kingdom, as
confirming that the Saudi
government had on Feb. 12
given the PLO a check for
the money. He said that the
funds were part of the com-
mitment Saudi Arabia "had
undertaken at the Arab
summit conference in
Baghdad."
An-Natshah added: "The
implementation of the
kingdom's commitment to
the PLO fell within the
framework of the kingdom's
continuous support for the
Palestinian cause and the
Palestinian people."
