THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

The letters were sent to
journalists, physicians,
politicians and jurists who
are known for their anti-
Israeli positions. Prof. Shi-
mon Shamir of the Hebrew
University, in Cairo on a
study mission, told Maariv
the letters caused anger in
Egypt.
The letters were signed
by the Kach movement, led
by Rabbi Meir Kahane.
Rabbi Kahane confirmed
