chemists, cryptologists,

Letters Sent
Backing Free
Trade Area

Letters are being gener-
ated both locally and out-
state to Rep. Guy Vander
Jagt, whose subcommittee
of the House Ways and
Means Committee is con-
sidering the establishment
of a Free Trade Area be-
tween Israel and the United
States.
Detroit Jewish Commu-
nity Council President
David Lebenbom wrote
Vander Jagt that such an
agreement would be "good
trade policy and solid
foreign policy." He also
noted that a free trade area
would strengthen Israel's
economy by providing ac-
cess to U.S. markets, and
also allow U.S. products to
compete more fairly in Is-
rael.
Members of the Michigan
Jewish Network in Muske-
gon and other western
Michigan communities are
also being encouraged to
write Vander Jagt.

Ignorance never settles a
question.
