Defunct Jericho Lodge More Than a Mere Memory:
Kadimah Israel Day Nursery Glorifies Its History

Lodge leaves a legacy —
in the philanthropy that
inherited its accumu-

to two former presidents
of Jericho Lodge, Meyer
Cooper and Edward Mil-
ler, that children in Israel
are benefiting — in the
form of the Kadimah Day
Nursery which could be
sublabeled IOOF
Jericho.

Landsmanshaften and after
more than half a century of
activity it gave up the
struggle for existence.
It was not like a land-

part of a national interfaith

When the children do not
take over, there is little
chance for living.
Nevertheless, Jericho

Jericho Lodge had a six-
decade record of services
that distinguished it among
fraternal Jewish organiza-
tions. It established a record
for philanthropy. It func-
tioned in a building of its
own that, under the title of
Jericho Temple, was among
the chief meeting places in
the community.
