Hillel Day School Named
for Jewish Education Project
Hillel Day School was re-
cently chosen by the Insti-
tute for Education in the
Diaspora and the Hebrew
University to be involved in
a program that will develop
and adapt materials about
Jewish values for the
American Jewish day
schools.
Rabbi Robert Abramson,
headmaster of Hillel Day
School, was invited by the
Institute for Education to
participate in the develop-
ment of a Jewish values
curriculum during a two-
week course this month at
Hebrew University in
Jerusalem. Day school prin-
cipals from North and South
America also will attend.
The second phase of this
program involves represen-
tative American teachers in
a study/development pro-

present a program on "The
Expression of Humanity in
Art" at 1 p.m. Feb. 17 in the
assembly hall of the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Branch of
the Jewish Center.
Guest speaker will be
Ruth Lefkowitz. All senior
adults are invited free of
charge.
The senior adult depart-
ment also offers a
humanities class at 10 a.m.
Tuesdays at the Morris
Branch. Conducted by Alli-
son Barash, program direc-
tor, the class is currently
studying Broadway shows.
The class is sponsored by
the National Council on
Aging with funds provided
by a grant from the Na-
tional Endowment for. the
Humanities.
