This recipe comes from
"The Sport of Cooking," pub-
lished by District VII of
Women's American ORT.
1 3/4 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
1 /3 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed light
brown sugar
1 egg unbeaten
1 tsp. vanilla
Hershey's milk chocolate
kisses
Sift together flour, baking
soda and salt. Cream together
the butter and peanut butter.
Gradually add the sugars,
creaming well. Add the egg
and vanilla and beat well.
Blend in the dry incredients
gradually. Mix thoroughly.
Shape dough into balls, using
a rounded teaspoon for each.
Roll balls in sugar and place
on greased baking sheets.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8 min-
utes. Remove from oven. Top
each cookie with a chocolate
kiss, pressing down firmly so
the cookie cracks around the
edge. Return to the oven for
2-4 minutes longer until gol-
den brown. Remove and cool
well. Freezes well.
