LISTENING
POST
TZVIAH IDEN, daugh-
ter of Shirlee and Jack Iden,
who's had a lifelong love af-
fair with horses, fell in love
with Israel as well, at age 15
. . . Although it was difficult
trying to reconcile her two
loves . . . looks like she's fi-
nally done it.
In July, Tzviah will make
aliya, along with five rare
Egyptian Arabian horses
. . . All six of them will settle
at Kabouri, one of Israel's
most reknowned agricul-
ture schools . . . She will
teach horse science . . . . . .
Last year, Tzviah "master-
minded" the export of nine
Arabian steeds to Israel.
When the Sloan family
from Talaria Farms in
Metamora asked if she
knew of a champion quality
stallion, Tzviah told them
about Shatir, a Crabbet
(English bred) owned by the
Pilz group in Israel . . . She
escorted the Talaria man-
ager and trainer to Israel
and they subsequently
agreed to manage Shatir
when he came to the U.S.
In late November, Shatir
won his first class and
championship in Ocala, Fla.
. . . Tzviah, with an MA in
social work from University
of Michigan plus working
with disturbed children, is a
breeder and pedigree
scholar as well as consul-
tant to American and Is-
raeli Arabian horse dealers.
CONGRATS ... to Ellen
Wolfe . . . on her "11th
birthday" . . . She's a leap
year baby, born Feb. 29.
NICE PEOPLE DEPT.
... Tom Zolkowski and fel-
lows at Car Tunes store
sales and repair on Wood-
ward in Berkley . . . to the
rescue of Heidi Press.
PLANS ARE BEING
formulated for a Durfee
Junior High School Reu-
nion . . . Interested grads
from 1956 or 1957 should
mail name (maiden also if
gal), address, phone
number, year attended and
if know about others .. .
