Dan Kahn, Metro Detroit Israel Bond general chair- participation in the honor society. The plaque, de- signed by the Israeli artist Nissan Engel, bears the word "Yisrael" in Hebrew against two broad bands of blue. For five years, each year that membership is re- newed, a medallion bearing man. The Prime Minister's club is an honor society of men and women who purchase $25,000 or more annually in Israel Bonds. "......-••• ............ • A state senator from East Detroit is asking the legis- lature to place a Michigan Constitutional amendment on the ballot that would give parents a tax deduction of up to $700 for each child they send to school. The de- duction would be allowed to defray tuition, textbook and transportation costs. Since these costs are gen- erally covered for public school students, the pro- posal would aid parents of students in private and religious schools. The proposal was made by State Sen. Gilbert J. DiNello and would need two-thirds approval in both houses of the legislature be- fore it could be placed on the ballot.
