Physicians Grant MDA Mobile
NEW YORK (JTA) — Station for Eilat
The Physicians New Or-
leans Foundation, a non-
sectarian philanthropic
organization, has given the
UOJCA (Union of Orthodox
Jewish Congregations of
America) a grant to expand
the scope of its synagogue
services division.

TEL AVIV — Magen
David Adorn (MDA), Is-
rael's emergency medical
service, inaugurated a
mobile first aid station to
serve the local population in
Eilat last month.
The first aid station is
staffed by doctors and spe-
cially trained medics and is
equipped with a large as-
sortment of medical
supplies. The station is
capable of providing initial
treatment for up to 20
casualties at a time.

The three shows will fea-
ture Yiddish theater music,
Yiddish folk music, and
Yiddish music in America,
explained and sung by local
Yiddish folksinger Larry
Bassin.
Bassin performed at the
Yiddish Concert in the
Park last summer and has
played for numerous Jewish
organizations in the Detroit
area.
The program, part of
the "Potpourri" series di- .
rected and produced by
Allen Miral, is hosted by
Laura Miral.
This Thursday, the Yid-
dish folk music segment
will be aired. Bassin will
discuss and sing "Turn-
balalayka," "Ui Iz Dus
Gesele," "Bagelach," "Nosh
a Gleyzele Tey" and "Yan-
kele."
The folk music program
will be repeated 8 p.m.
March 1 and 22. The Yid-
dish music in America seg-
ment will be aired 8 p.m.
Feb. 16, March 8 and 29.
The program on Yiddish
theater music will be aired
Feb. 23 and March 15.
Teaching Method
for Holocaust
OAKLAND, Calif. (JTA)
— Teaching of children
about the Holocaust must
highlight reports on the
non-Jews who saved Jews
and the kind of individuals,
according to the director of
the Institute for the Right-
eous Acts, Dr. Samuel
Oliner.
Oliner and graduate stu-
dents in the sociology de-
partment of Humboldt
State University are per-
forming a content analysis
of 100 interviews with sur-
vivors and reviewing an
additional 500 reports of
those who experienced the
Holocaust.

Redgrave in Suit
LOS ANGELES — Ac-
tress Vanessa Redgrave has
received a $1,500 contribu-
tion from the Screen Actors
Guild for her lawsuit
against the Boston Sym-
phony Orchestra.
Ms. Redgrave claims the
symphony violated her civil
rights by dropping her from
six scheduled appearances
in 1982 because of her out-
spoken support of the Pales-
tine Liberation Organiza-
tion.
TEL AVIV — Alon Ben-
Gurion, grandson of Israeli
premier David Ben-Gurion,
has wed fashion designer
Anastasia Constanktakos.
The couple met at Colum-
bia University and will live
in Tel Aviv where Alon will
work in hotel management.
