Israel Weisman, former owner of the Modern Variety Store in Detroit, died Jan. 18 at age 91. Born in Poland, Mr. Weisman lived 44 years in Detroit. He owned his store for 35 years. He was retired. He was a member of Tem- ple Beth El, the Farband, Histadrut, Jewish National Fund, and was past president of the Gold Star Parents. He was an honor- ary member of the Jewish War Veterans. Mr. Weisman also held membership in the Ameri- can Jewish Congress and Labor Zionist Alliance. He leaves his wife, Re- gina; a son, Donald of Hous- ton, Tex.; and three grand- children. KENNETH S.
