Blood Drive

the American Red Cross on

International Institute for
Strategic Affairs says Israel
will spend $6.4 billion on de-
fense in 1983-1984, com-
pared to $8.2 billion in
1982-1983.
Israel's regular army
numbers 172,000, a 2,000-

ious year. Of Israel's
500,000-man reserve, some
100,000 can be mobilized
within 24 hours.
