father, Mikhail, a plumber,
has been refused permission
to emigrate from Russia.
Robert's mother, Elza, is a
dressmaker.
In 1979, the senior Ef-
remov's sister was allowed
to emigrate to Israel. The
Efremovs have not been
given any reasons for the
denial of exit visas.
James is the son of Mr.
Franklin Purther and Mrs.
Sonny Purther. David is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal
Schechter.
