NEW YORK (JTA) —
Moshe Abramov, 28, an ob-
servant Jew from Samar-
kand in Central Asia, has
been arrested on charges of
"hooliganism," it was re-
ported by the National Con-
ference on Soviet Jewry. He
faces a possible sentence of
one to five years.
Abramov was arrested
Dec. 19 when he was asked
to withdraw a request to
emigrate to Israel which he
submitted in 1980. He re-
fused to do so.

with her two small children
in Aleppo, Syria last month,

Hussein of Jordan told the
reconvened Jordanian Par-
liament this week that the
Palestine Liberation
Organization should work
with Jordan in a peaceful ef-
fort to free the West Bank
and Gaza Strip from "Israeli
occupation."
He sought the PLO's help
to "do its duty to Jerusalem,
Palestine and its people."
The idea was almost im-
mediately rejected by the
PLO's second-ranking offi-

NEW YORK (JTA) — A
spokesperson for the Brook-
lyn District Attorney's
office confirmed last week
that charges of felony
counts had been dropped
against two Brooklyn
Jewish youths who, as
members of a citizens
patrol, seized three youths
who had forced their way
into a synagogue in the
Midwood section of Brook-
lyn on Halloween night.
The three youths, in turn,
accused the two patrol
members of kidnapping and
physically assaulting them.
