that U.S. Ambassador
Samuel Lewis met secretly
with top Israeli
businessmen recently. The
Israelis called for more
supervision of U.S. aid
funds to Israel, according to
the newspaper.
The newspaper said Meir
Amit, a former Cabinet
member under Menahem
Begin and former IDF gen-
eral, said too much ofthe aid
money was pouring into
"video sets." Lewis' was re-
ported to have replied that
Israelis "are old enough to
decide for themselves" how
to spend their money.

The lie of fear is the re-
fuge of cowardice, and the
lie of fraud the device of the
cheat.
