JERUSALEM — A re-
search team from the He-
brew University School of
Pharmacy has developed a
new anti-viral gel which
has proven effective in
treating the symptoms of
certain venereal diseases.
The new gel is suitable for
treating Herpes Simplex
Type I, which leaves the
patient with sores in his
mouth, according to Dr.
Sarah Segal, head of the
university research team.
However, further work on
the drug has been affected
by a lack of funds, Dr: Segal
reported.

Senior Magazine
Is Multi-Lingual
TORONTO — The Wag-
man Centre in Toronto has
begun publishing a multi-
lingual magazine for
seniors in the Toronto area.
The magazine has sections
in English, Yiddish, Ger-
man and Hungarian and is
published in larger-than-
normal type for ease of read-
ing.
Some 1,500 copies are dis-
tributed free to Ontario
senior citizen centers and
nursing homes. The maga-
zine is partially subsidized
by the Canadian govern-
ment and is written by
seniors.
Each is the architect of
his own fate.
