BRUSSELS (JTA) — The
Parliament of Europe will
send a delegation to Leba-
non, Syria, Israel, Jordan
and Egypt to "examine the
possibilities of a solution to
the Middle East conflict and
to all the problems of Leba-
non."
The delegation will be
headed by Piet Dankert of
Holland, president of the
European Parliament.
The decision followed a
meeting in Strasbourg be-
tween Parliament members
and an Israeli delegation
headed by Knesset Speaker
Menahem Savidor. He said
at a press conference later
that he had received assur-
ances that the European
Economic Community
(EEC) will take Israeli
interests into consideration
when the Common Market
is enlarged by the inclusion
of Spain and Portugal.
Those countries, par-
ticiparly Spain, compete
with Israeli agricultural
exports to Europe.

Following a honeymoon
in Barbados, the couple is
residing in Southfield.
