Schools Presentation Explains
Federation Agencies, Campaign

"Let's pretend that your
neighbor Mr. Schwartz was
out of work, had a toothache
but couldn't afford to pay a
dentist, needed help to .find
a new job, wanted his chil-
dren to have a Jewish edu-
cation but didn't have
enough money to pay their
tuition and was having
trouble dealing with all of
these problems. Where
could he go for help?"
"Mr. Schwartz" and his
problems were the subject of
lively concern when Cheryl
Guyer, co-chairman of the
Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion's School and Youth
Committee, took her
colorful feltboard presenta-
tion about Federation agen-
cies to Mrs. Adina Tzeel's
fifth grade class at Hillel
Day School.
Mrs. Guyer then handed
out brochures and the stu-
dents took turns reading
about the services provided
by each Federation Agency
and placing its "building

Studies, as well as Hillel,
Akiva and Yeshivath Beth
Yehuda day schools.
"The Jewish Welfare
Federation agencies are
able to help people in all
these ways because of the
Allied Jewish Campaign —
and because of the support it
gets from anyone in the
community," Mrs. Guyer
said.
The children were urged
to pass on what they learned
to their parents, who, like
thousands of other people in
the metropolitan Detroit
area, will be called by Cam-
paign volunteers on Super
Sunday, Jan. 15.
