The Best of Everything
INDECISION RIDES
THE rapids again among
nitery owners this New
Year's Eve . . . as once again
so many haven't made their
minds up yet as to what
should be offered on their
big cash register-ringing
night . . . But the arrival of
1984 will for certain be an-
other entrance of glee .. .
and more than in most years
. . a silent toast of the
champagne glass . . . for
peace.
New Year's Eve falls on a
Saturday night this year, so
nitery owners lose out on
their biggie evening of the
week.
Not much change in
CARRY-OUT SPECIALS 2 WEEKS ONLY!
$3.45
r
Danny Raskin's

prices, which have, for the
most part, remained pretty
much the same . . . In strag-
gler instances, there have
been slight increases .. .
also reductions . . . Those
who try to make it all in one
night either don't expect to
be in business for long . . . or
are just plain stupid.
So many have no set
seatings this year . . . with
come anytime seeming to
be the theme . . . How-
ever, those hats, bal-
loons, confetti and
noisemakers won't be
passed out any earlier
than 10 or 11 p.m.. . . The
late comers are also
provided, in most in-
stances, with entertain-
ment and dancing.,
New Year's Eve is 'never
restricted to nitery revelers
. . . House parties are al-
ways a second big time . .
not counting those who like
to get an early bite and then
watch a movie, stage show
or the television tube ..
where that annual
countdown to 12 midnight is
always a thriller for kissing
and shouting "Happy New
Year!"
Special menus are chefs'
picks of the best listed ..
and usually without much
increase in price.
All kinds of packages are
again available at hotels ..
One has already completely
sold out its over 400 bal-
lroom dining and dancing
reservations, plus all 220
rooms . . . Sheraton-Oaks in
Novi had such high success
last year, people didn't wait
this time.
Whether a place asks for
reservations or not, don't
take chances . . . Call ahead
to see if you can get in ..
Also make sure whether
your reservation does or
does not include a deposit.
Remember, if you plan
on drinking, leave the
driving to somebody who
isn't ... Start the New
Year off right ... don't
wake up with a hangover
. . . in the hospital.
Here's just a partial list of
what some of the places
