JERUSALEM (JTA) —
After 102 days of self-
imposed isolation, former
Premier Menahem Begin
quietly moved from his offi-
cial residence to his new
home Saturday night in an
almost clandestine opera-
tion. Begin has moved into a
rented apartment near his
son's home in a Jerusalem
suburb.
Begin was driven from
the Prime Minister's home
in a limousine after dark.
Only a few passersby and
several photographers wit-
nessed the move.
Photographs of Begin
published in Yediot
Ahronot on Sunday showed
him clean-shaven, indicat-
ing that the skin ailment
which plagued him has im-
proved.

Transcript Reveals Charges
Against Refusnik Begun

NEW YORK (JTA) — Re-
cently convicted Moscow
Hebrew teacher Iosif Begun
was accused of "committing
an especially dangerous
state crime" while "follow--
ing instructions of foreign
Zionist centers . . . directed
at causing a disintegration
of the Soviet regime," ac-
cording to a transcript of the
verdict obtained by the Na-
tional Conference on Soviet
Jewry (NCSJ).
Convicted of "anti-Soviet
agitation and propaganda"
on Oct. 14, Begun is cur-
rently trying to appeal his
maximum sentence of seven
years in a labor camp and
five years internal exile.
Begun was found guilty of
crimes against the state be-
cause he "provoked
nationalistic, emigration
tendencies among Soviet
citizens of Jewish national-
ity," and promoted "the
thesis of the exclusiveness
and isolation of the Jews."

The document specifies
the confiscated materials
used against the 51-'
year-old activist, im-
plicating several other
Moscow residents, par-
ticularly his fiancee, Inna
Shlemova.
