Kadima to Hear
Gerda Klein

The Allied Jewish Cam-

Kadima ($365) Section is
hosting guest speaker
Gerda Klein on Wednesday.
The 12:30 gathering will
be at the West Bloomfield
home of Diane and Emery

After some 20 printings,
Gerda Klein's book, "All
But My Life" remains a tes-

the human spirit in the
midst of anguish.
The sole member of her
family to survive the
Holocaust, Gerda Klein
affirms life through her
roles of author, lecturer
and historian — as well as
wife, mother and grand-

"All But My Life" is in the
British War Museum as a
reference work on European
history, and portions have
been incorporated into
"Perspectives in Litera-

the organization of Jewish
displaced persons in the
U.S. zone.
Mrs. Nesher went to Is-
rael in 1948, joined the
army and was a lieutenant

Cash Collection
Telethon Thursday

Telephones will be ring-
ing Thursday as volunteers
remind contributors to the
1983 Allied Jewish- Cam-
paign to pay off their pledge
balances by year-end.
Payment by Dec. 31 will
allow contributors to take a
1983 tax deduction. But
more importantly, accord-
ing to Cash Mobilization
Chairman Louis Berry and
Collection Review Chair-
man I. William Sherr, it will
permit the community to
meet its promises to the
thousands who rely on be-
neficiaries supported by the
Allied Jewish Campaign.
Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Treasurer Stanley D.
Frankel noted, "The people
who depend upon our local
and overseas agencies can-
not survive on promises
alone. We need to back up
those promises with cash.".

raised on Super Sunday will
help the Campaign's 16
local social service agencies
and 50 additional be-
neficiaries in Israel and
overseas.
Committee chairmen
include Susan Edelman,
publicity; Eileen Was-
serman, decorations;
Sally Mayer, worker
registration; and Harriet
Colman, clerical. Jeffrey
Howard and Cheryl
Guyer are chairing the
education committee in
conjunction with their
chairmanship of the
Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion's School and Youth
Committee. As part of
that effort, information
on Super Sunday will be
included in the commit-
tee's regular pre-
sentations on Federation
and the Campaign to
religious school students.
Ruth Broder and Michael
Feldman, who chair worker
briefing for the over-all
Campaign, will be handling
