MEXICO CITY — A
delegation of Mexican
Jewish leaders has lodged a
protest concerning the
treatment of Soviet Jews
and the plight of Russian
prisoner of conscience Yosef
Begun.
Representatives from the
Comite Central Israelita de
Mexico, the World' Jewish
Congress affiliate here, voi-
ced their protest last month
in a meeting with Rotislav
Sergeiev, the Soviet Union's
ambassador to Mexico. The
delegation handed the
envoy a letter of protest ad-
dressed to Soviet Premier
Yuri Andropov which
Sergeiev promised to for-
ward to Moscow.
