THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Beth Abraham Hillel Moses Has Twinned Bar Mitzva Eric Droz will "share" his Bar Mitzva ceremony with his Russian Jewish coun- terpart, Evgeny Kremen of Moscow, in absentia, at Shabat services 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Cong. Beth Ab- raham Hillel Moses. Evgeny is the son of Mikhail Kremen, a radio engineer, and Galina Kre- men, a lab assistant, who have been refused exit visas from the Soviet Union since 1974. They have been de- nied exit visas because the Soviet government said they had access to secret in- formation. When Kremen applied to emigrate, he immediately lost his job as a radio engineer and has been un- able to find work since. He has had to take menial jobs to support his family and to avoid being charged with parasitism. Mikhail and Galina have appealed to Soviet authorities to allow them to be reunited with his mother and sister in Is- rael, who emigrated in 1972. The senior Mr. Kremen died in 1978. In 1979, the International Year of the Child, Kremen published a book, "The Year of the Child — Soviet Style," in which he included photo- graphs of 50 children, all of whose parents were refus- niks or Soviet Jewish ac- tivists. Eric is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Elizabeth) Droz of West Bloomfield.
