Hanuka Event Home for Aged Annual Elec
at Oakland U. Meeting Dec. 14 at Borman
The Jewish Students Or-
ganization at Oakland Uni-
versity will sponsor a
"Hanuka Happening" for
students, faculty and their
families, and friends on
Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Oak-
land Room at the Oakland
- Center on campus.
Bob Schinker, magician
and illusionist, will enter-
tain. Latkes will be pre-
pared and served by the
students. There is a charge.

The students of the JSO
will distribute free dreidles
and Hanuka information
Wednesday at the Fourth
Annual Great Dreidle
Give-Away. The table will
be located opposite Charlie
Brown's in the Oakland
Center on campus.
The Jewish Students Or-
ganization is a Bnai Brith
Hillel Foundation Coun-
selorship under the spon-
sorship of the BBHF at
Wayne State University.
The program is directed by
Judy Teller. All Jewish stu-
dents on campus are wel-
come. The JSO office is lo-

memory of Ira I. Son-
nenblick, who served as
executive director of the
Home from 1947 to 1975.
Nationally known in his
field, Mr. Sonnenblick
was responsible for in-
novations that are still
utilized at the Jewish
Home for Aged.

JERUSALEM — The
Women's League for Israel
has presented scholarship
awards to 14 female stu-
dents at Hebrew Univer-
sity.
According to "The Jewish
Book of Why," the Roman
superstition of putting on
the right shoe first became a
Jewish rule as well, al-
though a Torah-based rea-
son was found to justify the
action.
