Friday, December 2, 1983 41 THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Danny Raskin's LISTENING POST THOSE WHO KNOW can call it a party of im- mense family love . . . and where have you last seen a birthday celebrant giving presents to family and friends? This was number 40 for Audrey Kozin (Dr. Frank), who held the mike and . . : while giving out the gifts . . . presented a marvelous rendition of what could aptly be titled, "This Was And Is My Life" . . . at Behnan Hall on Lahser. Brother Barry's Action Video captured the entire proceedings . . . mother Marion Grant sang "You Really Were A Beautiful Baby" and danced on stage with Audrey while holding a baby picture of her . . . Audrey did a chorus dance with sisters Paulette and Lynn. Audrey a natural in front of the mike (should have been an actress) . . . Elmer Raskin telling folks at table about being a sailboater now . . . with Marilyn and Dave Schwartz, Lil Rosen and Belle Weingarden, Marvin and Shirley Raskin all listening . . . Barrister brother of Audrey, Mark, looking on with such pride as sister spoke. Orchestra leader Eddie Burg never better . . . His vocal renditions are abso- lutely wonderful . . . and much reason why he is at the top of local musical cir- cles wanted list . . . nine- year-old Michael, son of Paulette and Bob Koffron, doing all the dances of today and yesterday: Bunny Hop, Hokey Pokey, etc. Dr. Felix and Rose Rosenwach looking good .. . He's now at emergency of Ford Hospital — Sterling Heights . . . Ben and Shirley Marks dancing cuddly . . . Debbie Weisserman taking napkins, "I'll put them away for Audrey's 50th" .. . Paul Borak no more big fat cigars . . . at least not this evening. The daughter of Marion and Jay Grant comes from a wonderful family that de- serves so very much. CONGRATS . . . to Bar- bara and Sam Press . . . on their 37th anniversary. RECENT SOUTH- FIELD inaugural cere- monies of new council per- sons in their chambers was dignified affair . . . with be- nediction by Rabbi Milton Arm of Cong. Beth Achim, and stirring keynote ad- dress by Judge John H. Shepherd, member and offi- cial of Jewish communal groups. Question . . . Why are the three women of the South- field council termed as councilmen at their chamber seats? WINNING BIG in poli- tics is in itself a large ac- complishment . . . but corn- ing far ahead of the field by a wide margin in the South- field council elections was a victory plus for Vicki Goldbaum . . . and cause for much celebration at her Laurel Woods club house party. City hall phone lines from hubby Ray and children Re- becca and Yael to the party continued to tell of her overwhelming acceptance . . . a great feat. How nice to see Rebecca and Yael running in and hugging mother with tears in their eyes . . . Ray all smiles with cowboy hat and flowers . . . Even Debbie Baiter bussed the table around tray from Pickle Barrel . . . Judge Jessica Cooper always so sweet .. . Judge Norman Feder re- miniscing about the wild campaign parties of yes- teryears . . . So many people worked so hard in a very well-organized campaign. CONGRATS . . . to Kay and Leo Anstandig . . . on their 35th anniversary .. . to Esther and Ben "B.B." Bolton on their 50th an- niversary. DR.
