Challenge of Conservative
Judaism.” At 8 p.m. Nov. 25
he will speak on "The Chal-
lenge — To the Jewish
Community and Israel." On
Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. he will
discuss "The Challenge —
To Home and Synagogue."
Rabbi Rosenberg is vice
chancellor for development
at the seminary to which he
returned after a career in
the congregational rabbi-
nate.
A graduate of Johns
Hopkins University and
the Baltimore Hebrew
College, Rabbi Rosen-
berg was ordained in
1949 at the seminary. For
18 years he served as
spiritual leader of Cong.
Adath Jeshurun in El-
kins Park, Pa. He has
also had pulpits at Beth
David Congregation,
Miami, Fla.; and Temple
Beth Zion, Philadelphia.
During his senior year at
the seminary, he had a
weekend assistantship at
Har Zion Temple,
Philadelphia.
Long active in Jewish
communal affairs, Rabbi
Rosenberg had been an offi-
cer of the American Jewish
Congress, the Philadelphia
Zionist Organization and
the Jewish Community Re-
lations Council. He has also
served as a member of the
education committee of the
Akiba Hebrew Academy
and the Solomon Schechter
Day School; as a trustee of
the Philadelphia Federa-
tion of Jewish Agencies and
of the Jewish National
Fund; also as a member of
the Eastern Montgomery
Advisory Council to the
Pennsylvania Human Rela-
tions Council.
Rabbi Rosenberg has
served as national secretary
of the Rabbinical Assembly
and as president of the
Philadelphia Region of the
Rabbinical Assembly. In
1976, he was appointed
chairman of the Chancel-
lor's Rabbinical Cabinet on
Seminary Development.
The Arians assisted at
Cong. T'chiyah's first High
Holiday services seven
years ago, and are in Detroit
to review the progress of the
congregation.
At 8 p.m. today, an oneg
Shabat will be tendered the
couple in the home of Dn.
Ron and Marilyn Poland,
2065 Hyde Park Dr., De-
troit. Services will be held
at 10 a.m. Saturday, and
will be conducted by Harold
Gurewitz and Sandy Han-
sell. The Arians also will
participate.
A potluck dairy lunch-
eon will follow at the
synagogue, followed by
an informal program of
discussion and singing.
