A 40-year anniversary
marking an historical local
Zionist record was unveiled
here last Saturday night at
a dinner honoring the 40th
wedding anniversary of Dr.
and Mrs. Sidney Leib, held
at Kingsley Inn.

Dr. Leib charted the re-
cord of continuing local
Zionist history which in-
cluded an important period
marked by the activities of
what became known as
Chapter One of the Zionist
Organization of America.
Dr. Leib was an organizing
member of the group.

Youth kinnus today

Dr. Leib is a retired
podiatrist and Mrs. Leib
was in the orthopedic shoe
business for 20 years. Both
remain active in the ZOA,
where Dr. Leib is a member
of the National Executive
Committee and is president
of the North Central region.
The Leibs are members
of Cong. Shaarey Zedek,
and Cong. Bnai Torah of
Boca Raton, Fla., of
which he is a board
member.
They are also active in Is-
rael Bonds, Jewish Na-
tional Fund, both being
members of the executive
and administrative boards;
Bnai Brith; Hadassah and
the synagogue men's club
and sisterhoods. Dr. Leib is
a 32nd degree Mason and a
Shriner.
The Leibs were married
Nov. 14, 1943 at Shaarey
Zedek. Their children are
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
(Adela) Chayet of Bloom-
field Hills, Dr. and Mrs.
Burton H. (Vickie) Leib of
West Bloomfield, and Mr.
and Mrs. Louis (Ida) Gout-
man of West Bloomfield.
The Leibs have eight grand-
children.
