52 Fritly,_ November 11, 1983 _ THE _DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Eagleburger Talks Result in Clarification of U.S Israel Positions JERUSALEM (JTA) — Undersecretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger has concluded talks here with top Israeli officials on closer political and strategic coor- dination between Israel and the U.S. and apparently the talks went well. Israeli sources disclosed last week that a high level Israeli ministerial delega- tion will visit Washington in "the next couple of weeks." They did not say Music by who would comprise the delegation but it may in- clude Premier Yitzhak Shamir. Shamir told a visit- ing group of Israel Bond leaders here last month that he hoped to confer with President Reagan in the not too distant future. The sources characterized the talks with Eagleburger as good and said discussions focussed mainly on Leba- non. Eagleburger, who is undersecretary for political affairs and the third rank- ing diplomat at the State Department, said the U.S. believes Syria eventually will agree to an arrange- ment that will preserve Lebanon's sovereignty and integrity. He said the U.S. was doing everything in its power to make the current conference in Geneva on Lebanese national recon- ciliation a success. Posts BUENOS AIRES (JTA) — Two Jewish brothers were elected to the Chamber of Deputies as a result of the large majority of votes garnered by the Radical Civic Union in last week's presidential elec- tions in Argentina. According to the Latin American branch of the World Jewish Congress, Marcelo Sturbin, 32, repre- sents the federal capital in the chamber, and Benjanin. Sturbin, 31, represents the province of Santa Fe. The brothers are former student leaders. Before the elec- tions, Marcelo Sturbin de- clared that he was proud of his Jewish origin. The WJC also reported that two other Jews are members of President Raul Alfonsin's economic advi- sory team. Dr. Bernard Grinspun and Dr. Mario Brodusohn are expected to play a very important role in the elaboration of the new government's economic policy. Alfonsin, who was the presidential candidate of the Radical Civic Union had 52 percent of the vote to 40 percent for Italo Luder, the Peronist candidate. The IDF spokesman said that bulldozers had been at work in a section of the camp being razed after new accommodations had been built on concrete or asphalt bases to prevent escape tunnels from being built.
