Interment Toronto. HILDA SCHECHTER, Larry Malin, 68 Larry Malin, owner with his wife of May-Lin Uni- form Sales in Muskegon Heights, Mich., died Oct. 31 in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. Malin resided in De- troit for 62 years, prior to moving to Grand Haven, Mich. He was with the U.S. Army, stationed in Ger- many, during World War II. He wrote for the Stars and Stripes. In Detroit, Mr. Malin was in the linen and coverall business for 40 years. He re- tired to Grand Haven six years ago, when he and his wife opened their uniform sales firm. He recently moved the store to Muske- gon Heights. Mr. Malin was on the Chamber of Commerce both in Grand Haven and Muskegon. He was a member of Bnai Brith's Brandeis Lodge. He leaves his wife, Grace; two sons, Jerry of Oak Park and Jack of North Carolina; a daughter, Jean Lankes of Grandville, Mich.; his mother, Anna Malin of Southfield; two brothers, Isadore of Detroit and Ben of Northridge, Calif.; a sis- ter, Mrs. Irving (Lynn) Rich of West Bloomfield; and seven grandchildren. Born in New York, Mr. Halper was the former manager of Baron's Clo- thing in Southfield. He was a 50-year member of Pisgah Lodge of Bnai Brith. He leaves his wife, Flor- ence; two sons, Allen and Don; a sister, Mrs. Harry (Ida) Smith of Miami Beach, Fla.; and three grandchil- dren. C. Westerman Catherine Westerman, director and trustee of the Samuel Westerman Found- ation of Michigan, died Oct. 28. She was graduated from Berea College and was a music major and class val- edictorian. She leaves her husband, Samuel L.; two grandsons and five great-grandchil- dren. Interment Louisville, Ky. Jerry Eaton Jerry J. Eaton, founder and owner of Dot Industrial Sales, Inc., died Oct. 30 at age 73. Born in New York, Mr. Eaton was in business for 40 years. He was a member of Craftsman Lodge of the Ma- sons. He leaves his wife, Inez; a son, Dr. Gary of Delmar, Calif.; a daughter, Edee Franklin; a sister, Birdie Eisenberg of New York; and three grandsons. Two things will be re- membered about Arthur Hass: his generosity at Temple Israel and the fresh carnation he sported daily. Mr. Hass, an attorney for 62 years, died Oct. 26 at age 84. A native of New York, Mr. Hass was a founder of Temple Israel. There he funded the Daniel M. and Sophie Hass Memorial Lec- ture in memory of his- son and wife. The lecture fund provided a speaker for the temple sisterhood's opening luncheon each year.
