of European affairs for the
Anti-Defamation League of
Bnai Brith, will address the
assembly. His topic is "Four
Decades After Kris-
tallnacht: The Current
Status of European Anti-
Semitism."
Born in Berlin, Ger-
many, Reiss is a survivor
of Nazi concentration
camps. His entire family
was killed by the Nazis.
He was liberated from
Theresienstadt in May
1945, and from 1945 until
1968, lived in Czechos-
lovakia. A graduate of
the Bratislava School of
Law where he received a
doctorate in jurispru-
dence, he also held the
positions of legal adviser
to the Ministry of Social
Services and to the Minis-
try of Foreign Trade in
Czechoslovakia.
Escaping from Czechos-
lovakia in 1968, he arrived
in the United States where

Composers, Authors and
Publishers at ceremonies
last month in New York.
Slobin won the award for his
"Tenement Songs" pub-
lished by the University of
Illinois Press.

Work degree at the Adelphi
University Graduate School
of Social Work.
Prior to beginning his
service with the ADL, he
worked in a number of posi-
tions for the Hebrew Im-
migrant Aid Society, serv-
ing as an emigration con-
sultant in Switzerland,
Italy, and Austria, and as
resettlement supervisor for
refugees in the United
States.
Also on the assembly
agenda will be the introduc-
tion of 1983-1984 officers
and a report on recent
Council activities. Council
President David , Lebenbom
will preside.

BATTER
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1 pkg. instant carmel pudding
1 cup water
3/4 cup corn oil
4 eggs
TOPPING
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 tsps. cinnamon
Combine all batter ingre-
dients and mix well. Pour 1/3
batter into a greased, 9x13-
inch pan, then 1 /3 of topping
mix, then 1 /3 of batter, etc., al-
ternating between batter and
topping. Bake at 350 degrees
for 45 minutes. Freezes well.
