Technion Research Discussed at Local Affiliate Meeting

Lenz at a public meeting of
the American Technion
Society Detroit Chapter to
be held at the United He-
brew Schools on Tuesday at
7:45 p.m.
Dr. Lenz, who served as
vice president of the Techn-

ion in charge of research,
will illustrate his talk with
slides showing the latest
innovations in Technion's
research and development
in Israel's industry.
The moderator of the eve-
ning's program will be
Robert Colten, a board
member of the Detroit

Two short films will be
shown: "CAD/CAM in Is-
rael" and "Adam's Gar-
den."

Prof. Lenz is especially
interested in metal remov-
ing processes, manufactur-
ing systems and robotics.

SINAI HOSPITAL OF DETROIT

TO ELECT TRUSTEES AT ANNUAL MEETING

The nominating committee of the board of trustees of Sinai Hospital of
Detroit will present eleven names for election at the annual meeting of the
corporation Monday, November 14, 1983, at 8- p.m. at the Renaissance
Center. Nominated for three year terms ending December 1, 1986:

According to Article IX, Section 1 of the hospital's corporate by-laws:
"Nominations of persons as candidates for Trustees, who must in such event
be a member of the Special Membership Class, may also be made by not less
than fifty (50) members of the Special Membership Class* of the Corporation
who shall certify to the Secretary in writing the names of their nominee(s) at
least ten (10) days before the annual meeting of the Special Membership
Class of the Corporation." Only one person may be nominated in each petition
and no nomination shall be valid unless the nominee shall have consented to
be a candidate.

*Special Membership Class consists of those persons, who must be individuals, who have
contributed and paid either to Sinai Hospital of Detroit or to the Jewish Welfare Federation of
Detroit, during the twelve (12) full calendar months preceding the month in which the annual
meeting of the corporation is held for the election of trustees, money or property in an amount or
value of not less than One Hundred ($100.00) dollars. Those persons granted honorary or life
memberships in the Special Membership Class are included in this classification.

DR. EHUD LENZ

During the past several
years while heading Techn-
ion's research, he advanced
Technion's activity consid-
erably in the field of robo-
tics. He is currently visiting
professor at the University
of Michigan doing research
in the fields of integrated
manufacturing systems and
robotics.
Dr. Lenz has held the
position at the Technion of
dean of the faculty of
mechanical engineering as
well as head of the material
processing laboratory. His
research experiences in-
clude head of a machine tool
laboratory in Zurich, Swit-
zerland, and senior scien-
tist, Ford Motor Co.
