2 lbs. chuck steak
2 large onions, sliced in rings
3 green peppers, sliced in
rings
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsps. soy sauce
6 large potatoes, cut up
1 cup barley

Brown onions and peppers
in oil in a Dutch oven. Brown
meat. Add soy sauce and
simmer for 15 minutes
covered. Remove meat, add
barley and potatoes, then put
meat back. Add water to cover.
Bring to boil in covered pot,
lower flame and simmer for 2
hours. Add 2 cups of water and
place on very low flame over-
night for serving the next day.
Serves 8-10.
