Sinai Seeks Subjects for Study on Cardiac Rehabilitation
study.
Researchers at Sinai
Hospital of Detroit have re-
ceived a grant from the
Michigan Heart Associa-
tion to determine whether
or not exercise benefits car-
diac rehabilitation.
Dr. David A. Wrisley,
medical director of Sinai's
cardiovascular fitness and
rehabilitation program, and
Dr. Melvyn Rubenfire, chief
of cardiology, will conduct
the study.
Candidates for the
study are people with
congestive heart failure
or severe heart damage.
There is no charge for the
program, which includes

Surgeon Joins Sinai Staff
Dr. Eric C. Hanson has
been appointed to the staff
of Sinai Hospital of Detroit.
Dr. Hanson joins the de-
partment of cardiovascu-
lar/thoracic surgery as an
associate of Dr. Frederick
H. Levine, chairman of the
department.
Before coming to Sinai,
Dr. Hanson was a cardiac
surgeon at Beth Israel Hos-
pital in Boston, Mass., and
an instructor .of surgery at
Harvard Medical School.
A graduate of Harvard
College, Dr. Hanson studied
economics as a Rhodes Scho-
lar at Oxford University in
England before entering
medical school. He received
his medical degree in 1976
from Harvard University
and completed his residency
training in cardiovascular
