The BBYO Membership
Awareness Conclave will be
held Oct. 21-23 at Camp
Maas in Ortonville. The
theme for the weekend is
"Become a Member of the
BBYO Team!" The program
will feature a presentation
by Menahem Vinegrad, the
new BBYO shaliakh at the
national BBYO office in
Washington, D.C.
Conclave staff will meet
at the BBYO office on Mon-
day at 7:30 p.m.; Dorm lead-
ers will meet at the BBYO
office on Thursday at 7 p.m.;
and the steering committee
also will meet on Thursday
in the same facility at 8 p.m.
Overall coordinators are
Staci Singer of Shalom Aviv
BBG and Brian Dubrinsky
of Rose AZA. Staff coor-
dinator is Debrah Klein.
The Great Lakes AZA
Council will hold a general
board meeting on Monday,
at 3:30 p.m. in the Dubin
Meeting Room at the Bnai
Brith Building. The Great
Lakes BBG Council will
hold its general board meet-
ing on Wednesday at 3:30
p.m. at the BBYO office. All
respective AZA and BBG
chapter presidents are in-
vited.
BBYO will hold a chap-
ter programming insti-
tute 1:30 p.m. Sunday at
the main United Hebrew
School Building. The
program is designed to
train chapter vice presi-
dents and chairmen in
program planning and
disseminate program-
ming ideas to the chap-
ters. Coordinators for the
institute are Sheri Ben-
koff of Shoshanna BBG
and Harold Silverman of
Samson AZA.
The first meeting for reg-
ional convention chapter
chairmen will take place at
4 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Bnai
Brith Building. At this
meeting steering commit-
tees will be explained and
contest workbooks for the
convention will be distri-
buted. Overall coordinators
for the convention are
Andrea Jaron of Brice BBG
and Jeff Cymerint of Rose
AZA.
Akiba AZA will hold its
annual Halloween Dance 8
p.m. Oct. 29 at Thompson
Middle School in Southfield.
Prizes will be awarded for
the best costumes. There is
a nominal charge. For in-
formation, contact Mark
Bank, chapter president.

ports in one of Israel's most
lucrative and innovative
fields, irrigation equipment
and agricultural machin-
ery, are running at a slug-
gish pace, according to
Elisha Shahmoon, chair-
man of the Israel Exports
Institute.
