THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS William Stern William Stern, owner of the Dunkin Donut shop at Six Mile and Woodward for 37 years, died Oct. 3 at age 68. Born in Lorain, Ohio, Mr. Stern lived most of his life in Detroit prior to moving to Deerfield Beach, Fla., three years ago. He was retired. Mr. Stern was a member of Tikvah Lodge of Bnai Brith. He leaves his wife, Rose; four sons, Joel of Southfield, Norton of Farmington Hills, Charles of Florence, Mass., and Robert of Lansing; three brothers, Morrie of Livonia, Harold of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jack of Willowdale, Ont.; five sis- ters, Mrs. Bertha Leb of Beachwood, Ohio, Mrs. Jack (Florence) Weisberg of Uni- versity Heights, Ohio, Mrs. Alice Fingerhut of Cleve- land, Ohio, Mrs Iz (Annette) Sevel of South Euclid, Ohio, and Helen; and seven grandchildren. Interment Detroit. R. Himelstein Reuben I. Himelstein, a longtime member of Cong. Shaarey Zedek and chair- man of its minyan commit- tee for more than 10 years, died Sept. 16. Born in Minsk, Russia, Mr. Himelstein lived more than 60 years in Detroit, prior to moving to South Bend, Ind., eight years ago. He is survived by his wife, Bess; two daughters, Mrs. Gail Bladen of Philadel- phia, Pa., and Mrs. Myra- Eisenberg of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Berman of Detroit; and four grandchildren.
