Kalamazoo.
Mrs. Lando will be cited
for "dedicated leadership
and outstanding participa-
tion in the Israel Bond prog-
ram which is helping to
build the economy of Israel
and a future of peace and
progress," said dinner
chairman Joshua Weiner of
Kalamazoo.
The honoree, born Ruth
Kaufman, is a native of To-
ronto, Ont. She is a
graduate of Assumption
College (University of
Windsor) and holds a cer-
tificate in medical technol-
ogy.
Mrs. Lando, a resident
of Kalamazoo for 38
years, has been a long-
time leader in many
philanthropic and com-
munal organizations. She
is a past president and is -
currently program
chairman of Bnai Brith
Unit. She has held many
offices for Cong. of Moses.
Sisterhood and is pre-
sently its education
chairman.
Mrs. Lando is a past pres-
ident and life member of
Kalamazoo Hadassah and is
currently organizational
vice president for Michigan
Region of Hadassah. She is

Group for Women Over 55
to Be Inaugurated by SPACE
SPACE, the National
Council of Jewish Women-
sponsored service for di-
vorced, widowed and sepa-
rated men and women and
their families, is offering a
new support group series for
divorced women over 55.
The series will be led by
Brenda Beron, a licensed
psychologist who has also
facilitated other support
groups for SPACE, and will
meet 1 p.m. Sundays begin-
ning Oct. 9. The program
will meet in the SPACE of-
fice, 16400 W. 12 Mile Rd.,
Suite 106, Southfield. There
is a registration fee.

support group series for
children whose parents
are separated or di-
vorced on Tuesdays, be-

ing SPACE conducts a
drop-in discussion group for
separated, divorced and
