Kushner Tribute Dinner Committee has announced the speakers who will address the dinner, which honors Kushner "for his 10 years of service as executive director of the Jewish Community Council of Metropolitan Detroit" and which takes place 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at Adat Shalom Synagogue. Chairman of the program is Rhea Appelman. Among the other chairmen are: Rose S-chwartz, decorations; Ida Rosenblum, publicity; and Matilda Rubin and David Lebenbom, patrons and sponsors. Speakers include former Congressman William Brodhead; Horace Sheffield, president of the Detroit Association of Black Organ- izations; Judge Avern Cohn, president of the Jewish Welfare Federation; Albert D. Chernin, execu- tive vice chairman of the National Jewish Commu- nity Relations Advisory Committee; Emanuel Zip- pori, consul general of Is- rael to the Midwest; David Lebenbom, council president; and Marian Shifman and Judge John H. Shepherd, past council presidents. Chairman of the Na- tional Full-Time Com- munity Relations Direc- tors Association, and a member of the executive committee of the Na- tional Jewish Commu- nity Relations Advisory Council, Kushner is a member of the Jewish War Veterans and past chairman -of the Social Service Section of the Al- lied Jewish Campaign. Carl Levin Has an Opponent A former one-term Con- gressman from East Lans- ing, Jim Dunn, has declared his candidcay to run as the Republican opponent against Sen. Carl Levin.
