cost of living index rose by
7.2 percent during August,
making for a 71.4 percent
increase in the first eight
months of this year.
At the present rate, infla-
tion this year will amount to
about 125 percent, or 25
percent more than forecast
by the finance ministry at
the beginning of the year.
